Just a short walk from Eiffel's Tower
Named after it's engineer, Gustave Eiffel, it's the most visited monument in the world (the tower has over 6 million visitors a year).
It can be found near the river Seine at the north end of Paris' 7th arrondissement. Other places to visit in the 7th arrondissement are Hotel des Invalides (resting place of Napoleon), the Musee Rodin and the beautiful golden bridge, the Pont Alexandre, which crosses the Seine to Paris' right bank and leads up to the Champs Elysees.
Some of the best hotels near the Eiffel Tower are:
Hotel La Serre, 24 bis rue Cler, Paris, 75007
Duquesne Eiffel Hotel, 23 Avenue Duquesne, Paris, 75007Le Walt Hotel, 37 Avenue De La Motet Picquet, Paris, 75007
Interesting fact: it's said that the writer Guy de Maupassant hated the tower so much he ate lunch there every day, because it was the only place in Paris where he could eat without having to look at the Eiffel Tower.
Interesting fact: Paris used to consist solely of the island in the heart of the Seine - the Ile De La Cite.
Interesting fact: Marie Antoinette never said "Let them eat cake"
