The Champs Elysees on your hotel doorstep
The Champs Elysees is the most famous street in Europe, but it's still possible to find a reasonably priced hotel there.
Although the hotels on the boulevard itself can be pricy - though often worth it for the experience - the many small streets that join onto the Champs have hotels that can work with a fairly average budget.
With the Arc De Triomphe at one end and the Concorde obelisk at the other, the Champs Elysees is classic postcard Paris. The boulevard is popular with locals for shops, cinemas and night clubs - plus office workers coming for lunch or coffee - and popular with tourists for the sightseeing.
So, grab yourself a slice of the glamour and choose to stay where the action is.
Interesting fact: Paris used to consist solely of the island in the heart of the Seine - the Ile De La Cite.
Interesting fact: The name "Paris" comes from Parisi, the Roman name for the people of the area
